不是洋垃圾電腦，整套是舊的機器

上星期又從網路買了一台很舊的DELL工作站繪圖用電腦，是兩個CPU的舊機器（E5-2670每個CPU有8核心16執行緒），記憶體插到全滿64G，這機器太舊與冷門，windows 10安裝iso沒有內建驅動程式讓主機板晶片組跑起來，安裝過程會找不到磁碟機來裝作業系統。

It's not a foreign junk computer, the whole set is an old machine

Last week I bought another very old DELL workstation graphics computer online for drawing. It is an old machine with two CPUs (E5-2670, each CPU has 8 cores and 16 threads). I installed the memory up to the full 64GB. This computer is so old and obscure that the Windows 10 installation ISO does not have built-in drivers to get the motherboard chipset running. During installation, it cannot find the disk drives to install the operating system.

網路看一下相關論壇討論，原來這台機器似乎沒有國人在討論，國外幾篇說使用晶片驅動是佣intel c600 x79系列主機板（俗稱洋垃圾），在windows系統安裝過程把windows 8 x64 SCU版SAS/SATA驅動程式掛上去，安裝硬碟就出現了，也順利安裝起來！

After checking some related forum discussions online, it turns out there seems to be no domestic discussion about this computer. A few foreign posts said to use the Intel C600 X79 series motherboard chipset driver (commonly known as foreign junk) during the Windows installation process and load the Windows 8 x64 SCU version SAS/SATA driver, then the hard drive appears and the installation is successful!

舊的雙CPU一共是16核心32執行緒(32 nm製程），用軟體評比稍測一下，比起新的單核心CPU的i9-9900K（14nm製程8核心16執行緒）效能還要差一點，因為現代晶片技術進步太快！

The old dual CPU has a total of 16 cores and 32 threads (32 nm process). I did a quick benchmark test with software and compared it with the new single core i9-9900K CPU (14nm process, 8 cores 16 threads). The performance is slightly worse than the i9-9900K, because modern chip technology has advanced too quickly!

DELL motherboard use intel C600 /x79 to control the motherboarding dailiy working environment. This machine originalliy equipped the PERC (PowerEdge Raid Controller ) H310 RAID card for SAS and SATA hard drivers. however, if you remove the PERC RAID card from your motherboard, the DELL HBA should be re-adjust to get back the function of SATA worked in the HDD0-4 and SATA0-4 ports.

Ensure that you copy the perccli.exe and perccli64.exe files to C:\Windows\System32

1. HDD ports 0-4 只有在 移除PERC H310 card 且有安裝至少1個硬碟裝置在HDD0-4 port 時，主機板上的HDD ports 功能才會被啟動。

2. 主機板上的SAS/SATA控制功能是整合在 Intel C600 chipset 的4 port SAS/SATA 控制器上面, 硬體 PCI ID 8086:1d6b.

3. 這intel 晶片規格說支援 SATA III 速度及SSD的 TRIM功能，但是這兩個規格都沒有被實際測試過。

4.當裝上2個HDD0-4的硬碟時，晶片以為你要使用RAID功能，這時候BIOS開機時，顯示 "Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology enterprise", 啟動及設定畫面，可以用 Ctrl-I 啟動設定，但是只裝1個硬碟在HDD0-4仍可以工作，但是設定RAID訊息畫面，就不會出現，因為單顆硬碟無法做RAID設定，BIOS就跳過測試的提醒。 SCU Option ROM is version 3.2.0.1022.

5.當HDD0-4都沒裝硬碟時，主機板上的SAS 控制器就不被啟動了。

6. 主機板上的 SAS1 (SFF-8087) 插槽，不論在任何設定下，SAS都無法運作起來。

5. 插在PCI 槽上的RAID卡優先性高於主機板，有PERC卡存在主機板時，主機板上所有的HDD0-4都被設定為無功能，不論是否插有幾個硬碟都一樣！但是使用其他非DELL官方的RAID控制卡廠牌（非LSI晶片的RAID卡）,主機板上的SATA功能就不會被關閉。
